In environmental psychology, 'space' is considered to have well-defined dimensions and shapes and is therefore geometric, and 'place' is considered to be the perception by the senses in which feelings are involved and is therefore an individual psychological perception (Rio, 2003: 11). 'Space' is thus first perceived and then, through the attribution of meanings, transformed into 'place'.
